Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Experienced Mid-Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Henderson, North Carolina.

- Hourly Pay: $28.00 per hour
- Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification up to $700
- Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter
- Sign On Bonus: $1250 at 30 days and $1250 at 90 days
- Schedule:
Monday through Friday, weekends OFF - Hours:
Second Shift 3:30 pm - 12:00 am
- Annual Merit Pay increases each year

- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Vocational or technical certification or post-secondary degree (preferred)
- Basic tools required
- Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
- Two or more years of combined classroom training and work experience (preferred)
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred)
- Must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
- Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and background & motor vehicle check
- Must be able to drive Ryder vehicles; employer may require additional screening, employment and education verification, motor vehicle records, road test, or badging/background of customer
- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
- Perform standard vehicle maintenance
- Perform component inspections and repairs
- Perform preventive maintenance
- Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems, using diagnostic computer when applicable
- Identify root cause of failures and perform repairs as required
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint once assigned a task
- Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available
- Work in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
- Perform other support duties as required to support operations, including but not limited to Service Island support
