Overall Job Summary

This position is responsible for interacting with customers and team members, supporting selling initiatives, and performing assigned tasks while providing legendary customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)

As a Team Member, you must be available, flexible, adaptable, and service-oriented.

Key responsibilities include:

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Work scheduled shifts, including varied hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Support selling initiatives by:
• Thanking customers
• Engaging with customers and pets
• Advising on products or services
• Making customer interactions memorable
• Perform duties such as operating cash registers, merchandise recovery, participating in freight processes, completing plan-o-gram procedures, assembling merchandise, performing janitorial duties, executing price changes, assisting with loading purchases, and caring for live animals.
• Complete all required documentation for these duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• No experience required; retail or pet/live animal knowledge preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, write, and count accurately is essential.

Preferred Skills and Abilities

• Pet/live animal, pet food, and pet product knowledge preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Interpersonal skills and ethical issue resolution.

Working Conditions

• Indoor environment with moderate noise; outdoor areas with hard surfaces.
• Shifts generally range from 4 to over 8 hours.
• Maintain a safe work environment following safety guidelines.

Physical Requirements

• Non-sedentary; ability to move quickly and safely throughout the store.
• Ability to lift or reach merchandise overhead and move merchandise up to 50 pounds.
• Constant standing, kneeling, twisting, crouching, and climbing ladders.
• Operate store equipment safely and accurately.
• Complete all training and certification requirements.
