SummaryThe Physician Recruiter is responsible for sourcing, screening, and recruiting physicians and advanced practitioners. They coordinate interviews, travel arrangements, site visits, and referencing, and develop effective strategies and campaigns for recruitment in designated specialties. The role maintains a candidate database and acts as liaison for credentialing and other issues.
Responsibilities- Identify and recruit physicians and advanced practitioners. Source and contact targeted physicians, advanced practitioners, and residency/practitioner programs. Assemble and distribute all collateral recruitment materials.
- Maintain a current list of open positions and track active candidates on open searches. Manage job postings on internet sites for designated specialties and/or associations.
- Assess candidate qualifications and present candidates to the executive team for consideration.
- Coordinate preparation of itineraries and interview site visits. Assist with candidate reimbursement for incidental expenses incurred during visits.
- Work with executive leadership to develop and implement an annual physician recruitment and retention plan, including coordinating activities, planning and attending resident recruitment events, developing marketing brochures, and networking with local and national colleagues.
- Develop effective strategies and campaigns for recruitment of physicians and advanced practitioners. Create recruitment advertisements across various media.
- Coordinate with recruitment vendors for permanent or locum placement of providers.
- Provide input to the physician recruitment budget, manage costs, audit and submit expenses for approval of payment.
- Act as liaison with candidates and practices regarding credentialing and provider onboarding. Coordinate relocation process for post‑contract candidates and maintain continuous communication with credentialing liaisons and managers.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Three years of experience working in healthcare sales, marketing, or recruiting.
