Job Summary
This position is responsible for learning and performing tasks involved in batching and casting, finishing, assembly, furnace loading and operation, packaging, and shipping. The work involves assembling large molds, pouring a cement-like mixture, allowing it to set, and removing the molds to produce the final product. You’ll start with hands‑on training and rotate through various skill areas as needed. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, and willing to learn.

Monday-Friday 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
Essential Functions- Batching and Casting:
Assemble molds according to blueprints or specifications using hand tools and an overhead crane. - Prepare batches following standard operating procedures (SOP), using both large and small mixes.
- Operate automatic batching system and pour material into molds per production schedule.
- Safely move parts using an overhead crane or manual lifting equipment.
- Finishing:
Mix and apply dressing materials to molds and finished parts. - Load and unload parts into furnaces using an overhead crane or forklift.
- Monitor and maintain furnace operations according to guidelines.
- Assembly / Packing / Building / Shipping:
Inspect and identify all parts per SOP before assembly or shipment. - Assemble refractory pieces, prepare and pour castable materials between refractory and steel shells, and use vibrators to remove air pockets.
- Dry, bake, and package assemblies per order requirements.
- Operate equipment such as pneumatic nail guns, power saws, and foam-in-place machines.
- Additional Duties:
Operate forklifts and overhead cranes to move large parts, maintain a clean and organized work area (including emptying dumpsters), and complete required documentation accurately and on time.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. safely (with assistance or mechanical lift if needed).
- Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts.
- Must be safety-conscious and follow all company safety standards.
- Must be able to read and understand English for safety instructions, blueprints, and documentation.
- Ability to perform basic measurements and simple calculations.
- Ability to use hand and power tools, forklifts, and overhead cranes (training provided).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Good problem‑solving and communication skills.
- Basic computer skills to access schedules and print drawings.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that may be hot, dusty, or noisy depending on location and season.
- Safety glasses and steel‑toed shoes are required at all times.
- Additional PPE may be required depending on task or department.
