Job purposeThe Borg Warner Arden campus offers two world class technical centers and a cutting‑edge manufacturing facility that designs and produces turbos, fan, and fan drive components for the automotive industry. This position will be based at the Borg Warner Arden facility in Western North Carolina and will transition to a new facility in Hendersonville, NC.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, motivate, and develop quality team members to achieve organizational goals.
- Design (from ground up) as well as implement a robust, flexible Quality Management System (QMS) tailored to new product lines and viable for production environments.
- Ensure compliance with relevant QMS standards, with a strong preference for ISO and non‑automotive standards.
- Serve as the management representative for quality system health, including internal and external audits.
- Act as the Voice of Quality in all matters related to quality systems and assurance.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with internal and external stakeholders to investigate and resolve complex quality issues.
- Partner with supply chain and Manufacturing teams to develop and implement effective quality procedures / strategies that meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of the Supplier Manual and related processes.
- Proactively identify and address systematic failure modes through continuous improvement of the QMS.
- Engage with all levels of the organization to foster a culture of accountability and quality excellence.
- Proven experience in leading and developing teams within a quality‑focused environment.
- Deep understanding of QMS standards such as ISO and IATF; ISO or non‑automotive standards preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to build and evolve quality systems from the ground up.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to manage complex investigations and drive systemic improvements.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across diverse teams and organizational levels.
- Experience with the following as well as the Ability to seamlessly build a Quality system that interfaces with:
- Work Instructions
- PFMEAs (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
- Control plans
- EPV (Early Production Validation) checks
- Layered Audits
- Gage & critical process Calibrations
- Customer Incidents and warranty
- Incoming Inspection
- Support product launch controls / processes such as APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning).
Other duties as assigned
Education / Experience Qualifications- BS in Engineering, or equivalent
- Minimum 8 years working in manufacturing including 5 years of Quality Assurance experience
