GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

The Manager of Quality Assurance possesses a high degree of understanding of manufacturing quality practices, fundamentals and uses them to assess and analyze product quality performance of ceramic products. Able to work independently and with colleagues to research and coordinate determination of root cause of electrical, mechanical, R/D, Proto-type software problems etc. Provides timely professional details and summaries of findings and conducts internal audits and controls.

Regularly interfaces with customer representatives and production to manage requirements and deliverables.

Requirements
  • 4-year degree
  • 10+ year experience in quality control
  • 5 years' experience managing quality staff members and technicians
  • Strong analytical skills
  • eligible to work in an ITAR environment
  • Excellent leadership, communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for managing day-to-day quality operations related to KII plant, location, or product line.
  • Will focus on maintaining internal quality management systems, oversee the audit program and work with/manage contract development and manufacturing organizations to ensure compliance with KII and customer programs.
  • The Quality Assurance Manager will report the Senior Quality Manager and ensure he/she is aware of all significant returns, systems issues, and quality related initiatives.
  • Provide quality oversight and manage projects for development and production of KII products and supplier programs. May lead committees, training, and roadmaps for non-quality team members. Participates in meetings and presentations such as MRM, PBC, HE Review, and CAR review Board.
  • Ensure implementation, maintenance, and improvement of quality management systems, including but not limited to procedure writing, document control, deviations, change controls, investigations, CAPAs, CAR and related personnel training.
  • Leads calibration program and hires/trains technicians or outside vendors.
  • Manage KII audit program, including audit preparation, execution of the audit, audit report and follow-up to any findings to Sr leadership.
  • Manage staff of quality engineers and technicians. Train, evaluate, motivate, and develop staff.
  • Routine travel will be required between various locations in the US (10% travel). Will work closely with KII sales, other quality teams, internal audit, and customers weekly.
  • Establishes and monitors process metrics and develops action plans as needed for plant, location, or division.
