Facilities Construction Technician

The Facilities Construction Technician’s responsibilities primarily focus on completing facilities construction projects in a timely and effective manner. The areas of expertise for the position may include carpentry, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, hydraulic, and/or HVAC systems.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing construction services for BRH projects as directed by the BRH Director of Facilities.
• Operating and maintaining construction equipment and machinery.
• Performing physical labor tasks such as digging, lifting, and carrying.
• Installing and assembling structures and fixtures.
• Assisting with the installation of systems such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
• Ensuring all work is done in compliance with safety regulations and all OSHA, federal and state safety regulations and maintaining clean and orderly work area(s).
• Detecting faulty operations, defective materials, and any other issues, reporting those and any other unusual situations to the Director of Facilities.
• Working collaboratively with other team members to meet project deadlines.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid North Carolina driver’s license and current automobile liability insurance.
• 2+ years of experience in construction projects, preferred.
• Knowledge, skills, and experience working with carpentry, plumbing and construction tools and equipment.
• Knowledge of OSHA, federal and state safety regulations for construction projects.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to read and generate written communication and documentation.
• Ability to communicate any real or potential construction project problems to the Director of Facilities and appropriate risk management staff.
