Essential Functions- Monitors the daily care of all residents
- Performs skilled nursing tasks as defined by company policy and procedure, and as allowed by state law
- Documents observations, concerns, and changes in resident conditions, incidents, and/or accidents, and ensures follow-up documentation until the issue is resolved
- Communicates resident needs and concerns to family members and physicians
- Communicates with family members, physicians, and other outside healthcare providers
- Records and implements physician orders
- Ensures that information and interventions recorded on resident service plans are implemented by Caregivers
- Ensures that Medication Aides maintain an orderly medication cart, medication room, and accurate medication administration records
- Receives reports from caregivers before the end of the shift
- Provides status reports to oncoming staff
- Assists in shift assignments and ensures that duties are completed satisfactorily
- Monitors care staff performance for compliance with policies and quality resident care
- Manages shift coverage when staff call in sick
- Responsible for scheduling and staffing duties as requested
- Handles family and visitor concerns or complaints, documenting issues and actions taken
- Manages minor physical plant issues during shifts, reporting to Maintenance and Administration
- Current state LPN/LVN or RN License if required by State
- Experience working with the elderly in a healthcare setting
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Ability to establish effective relationships with residents, families, and staff
- Professional and positive representation of the facility
