Role Description
As a full‑time Purchase Manager for Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, and Industrial Automation, you will manage the complete procurement process for components, systems, and services at Proftech B.V. You will work on‑site in Hengelo, collaborating daily with engineering, project management, and production teams to translate technical requirements into cost‑effective purchasing decisions. Your responsibilities include sourcing and selecting suppliers, requesting and evaluating quotations, negotiating prices and contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of materials for machine building and automation projects.

You will maintain accurate procurement data, monitor stock levels, and support forecast planning to reduce lead times and minimize risks. Additionally, you will continuously assess the supplier market, improve purchasing processes, and contribute to quality, sustainability, and cost‑optimization initiatives.

Qualifications

Experience with purchasing for engineering, mechatronics, robotics, or industrial automation projects, ideally in a machine‑building environment.

Strong skills in supplier sourcing, quotation comparison, price and contract negotiation, and vendor relationship management.

Ability to read and understand technical drawings, specifications, and bills of materials for mechanical, electrical, and control components.

Proficiency with ERP or procurement systems, and confident use of MS Office (especially Excel) for analysis and reporting.

Relevant vocational or bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering & Management, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field.

Strong organizational and planning abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on meeting project deadlines.

Effective communication and collaboration skills, able to work closely with multidisciplinary technical teams and external suppliers.

Professional working proficiency in English;
Dutch language skills or willingness to learn are a strong advantage.

Experience with cost optimization, total cost of ownership thinking, and basic knowledge of international logistics and Incoterms is beneficial.
