This forward‑thinking practice provides tailored accountancy and tax advisory services to a broad client base, ranging from SMEs and OMBs through to HNWI’s and international groups. The Role
Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced Management Accountant / Senior Bookkeeper to join their friendly and collaborative team. This is a varied, client‑facing role offering exposure to a diverse portfolio across multiple sectors.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Day-to-day bookkeeping using Xero, including invoice processing and bank reconciliations
- Reviewing bookkeeping work prepared by junior team members
- Reconciling control accounts and posting monthly payroll journals
- Preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns under a range of VAT schemes
- Preparing and filing monthly CIS returns
- Liaising directly with clients to resolve queries and manage submissions
- Providing Xero training and support to clients
- Supporting the wider team with ad‑hoc duties as required
- Recent and relevant bookkeeping experience within practice
- Strong experience with VAT returns and control account reconciliations
- Experience preparing management accounts (or a clear desire to develop in this area)
- AAT qualified (ideally)
- Confident communicator with strong client‑facing skills
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook
- A proactive team player who can also work independently and meet deadlines
- Salary circa £28,000 - £36,000, dependent on experience and qualifications (negotiable)
- 23 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, increasing annually up to 28 days post‑qualification
