About the role

Shiplake College is seeking an Exams Assistant to support the Exams Officer with administrative duties linked to the examinations process. This pivotal role ensures the efficient and accurate operation of our internal and external exam processes.

Working hours

Part-time (15 hours per week) during term time plus INSET. Hours are flexible and can be arranged as either five hours, three days a week, or two full days a week, within 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Working will begin in September 2026 and may require extra hours during exam periods.

Key responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the Exams Officer in the planning, coordination, and execution of exam schedules.
  • Assist with the preparation, distribution, and collection of exam materials.
  • Maintain accurate records of candidate progress and examination results.
  • Coordinate with teachers and staff to ensure all exam requirements are met.
  • Support the management of internal and external exam processes, including liaising with inspection bodies.
Qualifications and skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to prioritise conflicting demands.
  • Proactive initiative and ability to work independently.
  • Previous knowledge of exam processes and systems is an advantage.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
