Plumber / Mechanical Engineer (Level
2)

Location: HMP Huntercombe – RG9 5SB

Salary: £36,066.96 plus 5% salary increase for shift and weekend work.

Contract: Permanent – Monday to Sunday.

We are seeking a dedicated Plumber / Mechanical Engineer (Level
2) to join our team at HMP Huntercombe, a Category C men’s prison. You will work with experienced colleagues across trades and administration to create a safe and nurturing environment.

As a Plumber / Mechanical Engineer (Level
2), you will:

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on plumbing and mechanical systems.
• Respond to repair requests and ensure rapid resolution of issues.
• Collaborate with the Facilities Maintenance Team to support all prison operational needs.
• Maintain accurate records and comply with health and safety regulations.

• NVQ Level 2 certificate in a mechanical or plumbing discipline or equivalent.
• Good health & safety knowledge.
• Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.
