We are looking for a dynamic Utility Operator I who will have a positive impact on our team at our Hephzibah, GA location. The Utility Operator I is accountable to ensure the safe and productive operation of the plant, has aptitude for multiple disciplines, and is proficient in the operation of equipment associated with all functional areas within the plant. The Operator also backfills all operator positions within the plant for planned and unplanned absences and assists the maintenance crew as required.
Responsibilities- Comply with applicable MSHA regulations and site safety procedures.
- Follow provided safety and health instructions from supervision and management.
- Ensure work and activities under the employee’s control do not expose personnel to unacceptable risk.
- Operate equipment safely and efficiently, preventing damage, downtime, and quality issues.
- Fulfill production orders, quotas, and quality requirements; complete required paperwork accurately and timely.
- Assist with plant maintenance as required and maintain housekeeping at the site.
- Perform duties in packaging, shipping, bulk, and control room as directed by management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Literacy in English, both verbally and written.
- Previous experience within mining operations (preferably kaolin).
- Prior exposure to operating equipment in kaolin processing.
- Demonstrated ability to operate heavy equipment adequately.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, including risk identification and management.
- Demonstrated teamwork experience contributing to the achievement of set targets.
