As a commodity specialist at a Bio‑Rad Laboratories, you’ll play a key role in ensuring a reliable, cost‑effective supply of specialized materials and components that enable scientific and medical innovation. In this role, you’ll monitor global market trends, partner with engineering, quality, and operations teams, and negotiate with suppliers to balance cost, quality, and continuity of supply. You’ll analyze cost drivers, support new product development with sourcing insights, and ensure supplier compliance with industry and regulatory standards.
You’ll also apply your project management skills to lead cross‑functional initiatives—such as qualifying new suppliers, transitioning materials, and implementing cost‑reduction programs.
- Leads or manages projects of various scope and complexity.
- Experienced professional with wide‑ranging experience, using professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues.
- Executes supply strategies with the site personnel.
- Manages supplier relations and escalation issues with site/region specific suppliers.
- Participates in Supplier AVL development, supplier compliance tracking, supplier business continuity and contract spend management.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Supply Chain Management, logistics, Business Administration or related discipline. - Work Experience:
1‑3 years’ experience in sales, purchasing, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Experience in project management.
- Knowledge and application of the principles and theories of purchasing.
- Excellent oral and written communication, negotiation, and multitasking skills with exceptional organizational skills.
The estimated hourly range for this position is $45.24 to $62.21 per hour at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. As a temporary associate, your employment will be managed directly through our approved agency provider.
