Systems Engineer
Working within Bio‑Rad's Life Science R&D Group as a Systems Engineer, you will apply Systems Engineering principles and best practices to transform concepts and requirements into functional prototypes and finished products that improve healthcare outcomes worldwide. You will develop a systems‑level approach to defining concepts, designing, integrating, and verifying hardware and solutions that meet customers’ needs while collaborating with multi‑disciplinary teams of engineers and scientists.

- Apply technical knowledge of Systems Engineering to develop cost‑effective, reliable, and high‑quality systems that satisfy customer needs and business requirements.
- Influence critical design decisions during the design and integration phase with trade‑off analysis that clearly communicates data, observations, and results.
- Participate in product concepting and creation, collaborating cross‑functionally to develop system requirements and architecture definitions, system‑level test plans, integration of sub‑systems, and verification of instrument systems.
- Education:
BS/MS in Electrical, Mechanical, Optical Engineering, or equivalent (required). - Work Experience:
8+ years in designing, developing, and sustaining platforms for analytical applications and commercial instrument systems. - Extensive hands‑on experience with thermal, optical, fluidic, and biological systems (essential).
- Apply systems‑engineering principles to deliver cost‑effective, reliable, high‑quality systems that meet customer needs.
- Demonstrated track record as a technical project leader.
- Translate customer and business requirements into system requirements, defining engineering design concepts and driving efficient product development with modern design control processes.
- Ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements by applying design control processes such as risk management, configuration management, requirements management, and verification testing.
- Experience leading and executing product verification and validation testing activities.
- Leverage strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to drive and implement decisions.
- Coordinate with cross‑functional project teams to meet timelines and balance costs, schedule, and performance.
- Thrive in a multi‑disciplinary team environment and foster trust with senior and junior scientists and engineers.
- Continuously expand knowledge of state‑of‑the‑art systems and reliability engineering principles, theories, and practices.

CompensationThe estimated base salary range for this position is $133,900 to $184,200. Variable annual bonus is possible, contingent on individual objectives and Company performance.
