In this role, the successful candidate will provide supervisory oversight to the R&D team and technical leadership to project teams, ensuring effective synthesis and characterization of polymeric materials used in chromatography. The position will involve scaling up and optimizing laboratory‑scale procedures for transfer to manufacturing, as well as designing and executing protein purification processes to support both production operations and customer applications.

Responsibilities also include analyzing experimental data, preparing comprehensive reports, and presenting findings to diverse audiences. Additionally, the candidate will critically review technical documentation and serve as a trusted subject matter expert within the organization.

How You’ll Make An Impact
  • Advance chromatography by designing effective experiments and performing data analysis.
  • Develop new chemistries and applications for protein purification.
  • Establish plans and protocols for product feasibility, optimization, verification, validation, and launch.
  • Act as a subject matter expert when interfacing with other departments.
What You Bring
  • Education:

    PhD in Material Science and Engineering, Polymer Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • Work Experience:

    10+ years of post‑graduate industry experience in polymer chemistry, polymer engineering, organic synthesis, or materials characterization.
  • Knowledge and experience in polymer synthesis, material characterization, and chemical analysis.
  • Knowledge and experience in protein purification, chromatography application, and protocol design.
  • Demonstrate ability to manage team and project, analyze data, and solve problems.

Compensation

The estimated base salary range for this position is $153,100 to $210,600 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job‑permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and company performance.
