Bio-Rad is seeking a Science Editor to join its global Brand and Marketing Communications Department. The Technical Editor will play a key role in ensuring consistency and quality of materials (primarily written) for our global customer base. The successful candidate will be a meticulous editor with an incredibly sharp eye for detail and an excellent grasp of the nuances of English language communication.
Knowledge of the life or biomedical sciences is a plus. The candidate should be capable of independently structuring their workday to juggle multiple projects with differing deadlines. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Power point, Excel) is required. Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and Workfront is a plus.
A typical day in this role begins with checking on your projects and making your to‑do list for the day. You can expect to spend most of your day reviewing technical and marketing materials written by others, checking for grammar, consistency, scientific accuracy, and compliance with style, legal, and regulatory guidelines. You will also review and organize materials and feedback provided by internal stakeholders, as well as attend kickoff and departmental meetings.
Candidates may be asked to perform a practical exercise as part of the interview process.
This is a hybrid position expected to work at least 3 days per week from our headquarters in Hercules, CA. The remaining two days may be worked from the office or remotely.
How You’ll Make An Impact- Drive adherence to brand standards and style
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of product information and scientific claims
- Provide tactful, thoughtful feedback and queries to stakeholders and team members
- Maximize clarity in diverse technical and marketing communications
- Work with stakeholders and cross‑functional team members to produce and update collateral pieces
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in English, Communications, or the Life Sciences - Work Experience:
0–2 years experience as an editor in science, healthcare, or technology marketing - Strong command of English language and basic life science principles
- An eye for details and a drive for excellence
- Experience working with an editorial style guide (internal or external)

CompensationThe estimated base salary range for this position is $75,500 to $103,900 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job‑permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
