Early Help Family Support Worker

Salary: HC07 £ 32,061 - £36,363 per annum

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 37 hours per week

Location: Plough Lane, Hereford

Relocation package: Up to £10,000 available

Introduction

The Early Help family support team is seeking to appoint two dynamic family support workers. You will work directly with vulnerable children (aged 0‑18) and their families to promote their welfare and development. You will deliver targeted support in the home using a solution‑focused approach to build supportive and empowering relationships with families and reduce the need for higher level support.

We work in close partnership with other agencies and professionals across Herefordshire to provide and co‑ordinate a package of support that will address all the family’s needs.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver targeted, evidence‑based services within family homes and community venues.
  • Assess children’s needs and collaborate with families and support networks to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Engage children, young people and families to deliver a wide range of interventions.
  • Work within a multi‑agency team across Herefordshire, using a solution‑focused approach.
  • Maintain accurate records, support supervision, training and professional development.
  • Occasional lone working and drive across Herefordshire.
Qualifications
  • Dynamic professional with a strong drive to support children.
  • Ambitious and passionate about child development.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of Early Help and Child Development.
  • Experience working with young children and families, ideally in a supportive or intervention role.
  • Ability to deliver targeted, evidence‑based services to families.
  • Strong assessment skills to identify children’s needs.
  • Effective collaboration skills for working within multi‑agency teams.
  • Flexibility and independence with the ability to work alone.
  • Full driving licence and access to a car.
