The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Lead Project Manager to join a leading Tier 1 main contractor and take responsibility for the successful delivery of a £12 million school project in Hereford.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Project Manager who is looking to take the next step in their career and lead a high-profile education project within a well-established and highly respected construction business.

You will have significant responsibility for the overall project delivery, working closely with the site team, commercial function, client, consultants and supply chain to ensure the project is delivered safely, on programme, to budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

* Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the £12m school project.

* Lead and manage the project team throughout the construction programme.

* Develop and manage the project programme, ensuring key milestones are achieved.

* Drive project performance across programme, quality, health & safety and commercial delivery.

* Manage client, consultant, subcontractor and stakeholder relationships.

* Coordinate design, procurement and construction activities.

* Identify and manage project risks, opportunities and potential issues.

* Ensure the project is delivered in accordance with company procedures and industry best practice.

* Provide strong leadership across the project team and supply chain.

* Maintain a strong focus on quality and customer satisfaction.

* Work closely with the commercial team to ensure effective cost management and financial performance.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager / Senior Project Manager / Lead Project Manager with a strong background in main contracting and the delivery of construction projects.

Ideally, you will have:

* Proven experience managing construction projects of £10m+ value.

* Experience with in the education, schools or public sector would be highly advantageous.

* Strong knowledge of construction project management and delivery.

* Excellent leadership and communication skills.

* A proven ability to manage programmes, budgets, risk and project teams.

* Experience working for a Tier 1 main contractor is desirable.

* Relevant construction qualifications such as SMSTS, CSCS and/or a construction-related degree.
