OverviewThis is an exciting opportunity to join our Public Health team in Herefordshire. We are a small, well‑established team in an organisation and system that values public health and prevention.
As one of the Council’s senior leaders, your role will involve leading across adult Health Improvement and Public Health Intelligence. This includes smoking, physical activity, healthy weight, population health management, the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment and other programme areas as priorities dictate. The rurality of Herefordshire combined with its small city and market towns provides a challenge in how we commission and provide services.
The Council is passionate about strengths‑based approaches and placing communities at the heart of all that we do. We are committed to tackling inequalities and are passionate about what we do; we place emphasis on personal development, have a good reputation as a training location and have good links to academic partners.
We have strong links with our Integrated Care Board and our One Herefordshire Partnership is unique in providing place‑based leadership across a County that is coterminous with NHS Wye Valley Trust and our GP Federation for Herefordshire:
Taurus Healthcare.
