Senior Clinical Education Fellow Anaesthetics
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Clinical Fellow within the department of Anaesthesia. We are seeking an experienced anaesthetist who is highly motivated and a strong desire to work with excellence.
Our department has a diverse blend of 25 consultants with a wealth of experience that lends itself to providing first class care and a unique training experience. We pride ourselves on being a very approachable, flexible and proactive.

Main duties of the job- You will contribute to regular day time activity across specialties and to resident on call duties.
- Duties and opportunities are dependant on experience
- Resident on-call duties are on a 1:8 rota with prospective cover and will cover either general or obstetric anaesthesia services, or ICU. These hours are 08:00-18:00, 08:00-20:30 and 20:00-08:30. There are three tiers of resident anaesthetic and intensive care cover within the hospital who work as a team to provide out of hour cover with non-resident consultant support.
- Elective activity may include supervised/mentored elective lists and/or Obstetrics /ICU.
- You will be an active member of the hospital medical emergencies team.
- You will undertake intra- and inter-hospital critical care transfers.
- It is expected that you will engage with clinical governance by taking part in regular departmental meetings, and proactively undertaking audit and quality improvement projects.
- It is expected that you will familiarise yourself with and adhere to the Trust's policies on Clinical Governance, Confidentiality and Infection Control.

Person Specification Education & Qualificiations- MBChB or equivalent
- Full GMC Registration with Licence to practise
- Primary FRCA or equivalent
- 12 months anaesthesia experience
- Have evidence of achievement of the Initial Assessment of Competence in Anaesthesia
- ALS provider
- At least 18 months previous anaesthesia experience.
- Have evidence of achievement of the Initial Assessment of Competence in Obstetric Anaesthesia or equivalent
- Have evidence of achievement of the Core competences in Intensive Care Medicine
- On call experience in ICU or Obstetrics
- Experience in or exposure to general paediatrics, obstetrics, surgery (any level)
- ATLS/ EPLS/ APLS Provider
- Demonstrate commitment to Anaesthesia
- Widespread broad based knowledge in all aspects of general medicine and surgery.
- Widespread broad based knowledge in all aspects of Anaesthesia & Intensive Care Medicine
- Clearly demonstrate evidence-based practice.
- Proactive Quality Improvement involvement and implementation
- Evidence of clinical audit practice and clinical governance.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Excellent communication skills, oral and written, including the ability to communicate and interact effectively with colleagues and patients
- Second language
- Demonstrated leadership ability.
