We are seeking three Consultants to join our friendly, forward-thinking and supportive Histopathology Department as we complete our substantive consultant workforce.

Our Histopathology Department is fully UKAS accredited and serves a diverse population across Herefordshire and Mid Wales. We are the lead laboratory within a developing digital pathology network that includes Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust and South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust.

Main duties of the jobWe provide a comprehensive histopathology and non-gynaecological cytopathology service, reporting a broad range of surgical pathology specimens and contributing to multidisciplinary team meetings, governance, audit and education.

About the department

Our department currently comprises three substantive consultants and is expanding to establish a full complement of six consultant cellular pathologists.

About us Wye Valley NHS Trust is a member of an NHS Foundation Group with South Warwickshire NHS FT , the George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust and Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.

Located on the border with Wales in the shadow of the Black Mountains, we provide acute and community services across Herefordshire and into parts of Powys and run Hereford County Hospital and the community hospitals in Bromyard, Leominster and Ross-on-Wye.

Worcestershire is our neighbouring county. The post holder will be required to travel between sites.
