The Role As a Music
Teacher , whether an Early Career Teacher (ECT) or an experienced
teacher , your responsibilities will include:
Delivering
high-quality lessons in music across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5,
ensuring students develop both practical and theoretical knowledge
Creating a varied and engaging curriculum that includes music
theory, performance, composition, and music history, to inspire
students of all abilities Guiding students in both individual and
group performances , helping them hone their skills in
instrumental, vocal, and composition work Collaborating with the
music team to ensure the curriculum meets the needs of all
students, fostering a positive learning environment Providing
regular feedback to assess student progress and help them achieve
their full potential Supporting extra-curricular activities , such
as school concerts, music clubs, and ensembles, offering students
opportunities to showcase their talents outside of the classroom
Taking on leadership responsibilities if you are an experienced
teacher , including mentoring less experienced colleagues or
contributing to the department’s strategic planning What We Are
Looking For We are looking for a Music Teacher who is passionate
about the subject and committed to helping students reach their
potential. Whether you are an Early Career Teacher (ECT) or an
experienced teacher , you should possess: ✔️ Qualified Teacher
Status (QTS) and a degree in Music or a related field ✔️ For ECTs :
A desire to develop professionally with support from experienced
colleagues ✔️ For Experienced Teachers :
Proven experience teaching
music at Key Stage 3, 4, and 5, with a track record of student
success ✔️ Knowledge of music theory , performance, composition,
and music history ✔️ The ability to engage and inspire students to
achieve their best in both theoretical and practical music tasks ✔️
A creative approach to curriculum delivery, ensuring lessons are
both challenging and enjoyable for all students ✔️ Strong
communication skills to work with students, parents, and staff ✔️ A
commitment to contributing to extra-curricular activities that
enhance the music programme and foster a love for music beyond the
classroom ✔️ For Experienced Teachers :
Leadership or mentoring
