Position: Geography Teacher — Outstanding Secondary School in Herefordshire

Start Date: September 2026

Contract: Full-time Permanent

Salary: Paid to scale (MPS/UPS)

Set amid the stunning landscape of the Wye Valley in Herefordshire this 11-18 secondary school is seeking a full-time Geography Teacher to join its well-regarded Humanities department. This role offers an outstanding setting for fieldwork and outdoor learning making it an ideal opportunity for a teacher who enjoys taking geography beyond the classroom.

The successful candidate will teach Geography across Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5 (AQA) with extensive opportunities for fieldwork using the local rivers landscapes and rural environment. You will support the schools sixth form geography society and contribute to wider sustainability and eco-initiatives across the school. Responsibilities also include planning and risk-assessing fieldwork visits maintaining assessment records and contributing to department planning meetings.

Requirements

  • Degree in Geography and QTS

  • Strong subject knowledge across KS3-5 Geography; A-level experience desirable

  • Genuine enjoyment of fieldwork and outdoor learning

  • Confidence planning and risk-assessing educational visits

  • Willingness to contribute to whole-school sustainability initiatives
