A Field Service Engineer / Regional Maintenance Engineer is needed to join EAG Bioenergy, one of the UK's fastest growing renewable energy businesses operating anaerobic digestion and biogas facilities across the UK and Ireland. If you're a practical, mechanically minded engineer who enjoys solving problems, getting stuck in and working independently, this is an opportunity to play a key role in a business that's expanding rapidly.
Backed by significant investment, EAG Bioenergy is growing quickly through the acquisition and operation of renewable energy sites that convert agricultural and food waste into valuable green energy. What started with a small team has grown into a thriving business operating multiple sites, with further expansion planned. This newly created role sits at the heart of those operations, supporting site teams and helping keep facilities running efficiently.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll become the first point of support for nine site operators across the UK and Ireland. Rather than every issue landing on your manager's desk, you'll take ownership, providing telephone support where possible before travelling to site to diagnose and repair faults yourself. When specialist support is needed, you'll coordinate external experts while keeping operations moving.
Around 90% of your time will be spent travelling between sites, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys being out in the field rather than behind a desk.
This is a hands on role in a demanding environment. You'll be working around anaerobic digestion plants, agricultural waste, slurry and food waste, so we're looking for someone who isn't afraid to get their hands dirty and enjoys practical engineering challenges.
To qualify: You should be a Field Service Engineer, Agricultural Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Mobile Engineer, Plant Engineer or similar with a CV that demonstrates
- Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding experience
- A practical, hands on approach with the confidence to diagnose and repair equipment independently
- Experience working in agricultural, waste, recycling, anaerobic digestion, plant, heavy equipment or similar industrial environments
- The ability to manage your own workload and make sound decisions in the field
- Excellent problem solving and communication skills
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK, with occasional trips to Ireland
You’ll ideally be based in Shropshire, Herefordshire or the surrounding area to provide easy access to the company's operational sites.
In return, you'll receive a salary of £40,000 to £42,000, a fully equipped company van, benefits package and the opportunity to join an ambitious renewable energy business where you'll become a trusted member of a close knit operations team. If you enjoy variety, autonomy and solving real engineering problems, this is a role where you'll make a visible difference every day.
