We are recruiting for a practice administrator to join our friendly andbusy practice team. Hours will be Mon-Fri. 8/8.30am start. Flexibility will be required to cover additional hours as necessary.
You should have previous secretarial/administration experience and excellent IT skills. Knowledge of Primary Care (or health organisations) and its IT systems (EMISweb/Docman) would be an advantage butfull training is available. You will need good time management and organisation skills and be able to prioritise your workload, along with an understanding of,and commitment to, patient confidentiality. You should have the ability to useyour own initiative but also be team orientated, with a flexible approach toyour workload.
Good written and oral communication skills are essential,along with a good sense of humour. You will be part of a friendly, enthusiastic team, which offers learning and development support at all times.

Main duties of the jobThis busy post providesgeneraladministration and referrals support to the practice manager, deputy practice manager, doctors and health professionals, involving word processing skills with general administration work. You will be responsible for providing anefficient copy typing and word processing service for GPs and health professionals as required. This includes the typing and processing ofletters, reports, patient referrals, minutes, memorandums, etc. in an accurate and quality manner.
Assisting the practice team with all administrative duties, including patient registration management. Monitoring Quality and Outcomes Framework achievements and ensuring efficient utilisation of patient call and recall systems to achieve patient compliance and set targets
Toassist with the gathering of statistics and information when required.

Our doctors, nurses and all other staff are dedicated to offering a professional healthcare service to approximately 8,900 patients. The team includes doctors,advanced nurse practitioners, nurses, healthcare assistant, physiotherapist sand midwife, all supported by the reception and admin teams. As a member ofthe WBC Primary Care Network, We work closely with Cantilupe Surgery and Wargrave House Surgery offering additional patient services including medicines management, social prescribing and health and well-being support.

Job responsibilitiesTo provide general administration and referrals support, within a multi skilled team, to the practice manager, deputy practice manager, doctors and health professionals, involving word processing and general clerical work.
Job responsibilities:
- To provide an efficient copy typing and word processing service for GPs and health professionals as required. This includes the typing of letters, reports, patient referrals, minutes, memorandums, etc. in an accurate and quality manner.
- To assist in managing referrals to secondary care using the e-referral service.
- To assist the practice manager/deputy practice manager with all clerical and administrative duties.
- To make appointments, bookings and admissions as required, using manual and electronic software.
- To establish and maintain filing and administrative systems so that written or computer information is easily accessible and secure.
- To retrieve medical records and assist the completion of medical/insurance reports.
- File patient records and correspondence in patient medical records.
- To receive incoming and initiate outgoing telephone calls in order to facilitate timely and appropriate communications with others, taking messages and dealing with appropriate queries.
- To maintain the computer clinic system in an accurate and secure manner.
- To receive and dispatch mail and maintain a pending system.
- Scanning of letters and relevant correspondence into patients notes taking account of colour, paper size, and multi-paged documents, using scanning equipment software.
- Extraction of necessary data from clinical correspondence and input into Electronic Patient Record.
