Senior Clinical Education Fellow Anaesthetics

Responsibilities

• You will contribute to regular day time activity across specialties and to resident on call duties.
• Duties and opportunities are dependent on experience.
• Resident on-call duties are on a 1:8 rota with prospective cover and will cover either general or obstetric anaesthesia services, or ICU. These hours are 08:00-18:00, 08:00-20:30 and 20:00-08:30. There are three tiers of resident anaesthetic and intensive care cover within the hospital who work as a team to provide out of hour cover with non-resident consultant support.
• Elective activity may include supervised/mentored elective lists and/or Obstetrics /ICU.
• You will be an active member of the hospital medical emergencies team.
• You will undertake intra- and inter-hospital critical care transfers.
• It is expected that you will engage with clinical governance by taking part in regular departmental meetings, and proactively undertaking audit and quality improvement projects.
• It is expected that you will familiarise yourself with and adhere to the Trust's policies on Clinical Governance, Confidentiality and Infection Control.
