Overview
This role supports the clinical team to provide high quality clinical practice placements and expand placement opportunities for the wider system. The post holder will provide support and guidance in delivering high quality innovative practice for AHPs. They will work in partnership with stakeholders to ensure the development of inter-professional learning opportunities in practice, and ensure appropriate learning environments are created and maintained to drive the integration of theory with practice.
They will support undergraduate and apprentice radiographers, imaging assistants and newly qualified radiographers as well as those embarking on postgraduate training opportunities.
- Identify and develop the best practice model for the provision of clinical placement provision for all AHPs within Radiography, including apprenticeship degree Radiographers, undergraduate Radiography students and sonography.
- Provide support to all learners in designated clinical learning environments in respect of the acquisition of enhanced skills and the delivery of holistic care based upon care pathways and evidence based practice.
- Promote high quality support to the supervisory staff to reduce the clinical burden on clinical educators at service delivery level.
- Use a variety of appropriate teaching and learning strategies to promote learning and reflection on practice, including working clinically alongside the learners and their practice supervisors / practice assessors.
- Direct and encourage learners and practitioners to other educational resources i.e. Library / IT etc. within the Trust / University and other relevant sources
