• We need a practical background in both data science and advanced analytics, with experience deploying predictive models and generating actionable business insights.
• We need proven experience defining data roadmaps, managing team capacity, and guiding the direction of technical teams.
• We need strong programming skills in Python or R, advanced SQL, and the ability to support machine learning, statistical modeling, and large‑scale dataset querying.
• Experience with end‑to‑end data science and machine learning platforms is highly advantageous, and experience with Dataiku or similar platforms would be a strong plus.
• We need outstanding written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data science concepts and model outputs for non‑technical senior leadership.
• We need excellent organisational, problem‑solving, project management, and resource allocation skills.

• We will define, build, and own the combined data science and analytics roadmap, ensuring alignment with broader company objectives and measurable value.
• We will directly manage, mentor, and provide strategic guidance to our Senior Data Scientist and Senior Data Analyst.
• We will actively support technical delivery by developing machine learning models, building complex analytical pipelines, and structuring advanced reporting frameworks.
• We will oversee workload and project allocation across both streams.
• We will regularly report on team resources, track project velocity, and ensure efficient deployment of our senior reports and their teams.
• We will balance strategic long‑term planning with hands‑on technical delivery, adapting to changing business demands and deadlines.

This is a hybrid role based in Hereford, with three days per week in the office. The role offers a salary of £65,000 to £70,000 along with excellent benefits.
