About the Role

We are recruiting for a Cratewash / Despatch operative to join our team in Hereford. As a Cratewash operative you will be responsible for achieving hygiene standards in your area and helping the team meet the high standard of hygiene required for Avara Foods.

Working Hours
0700‑1900 / 1900‑0700 – 3 on 2 off / Days & Nights

Compensation
£12.65 per hour plus shift allowance £1.23

Key Responsibilities
  • Fully understand and comply with all department and company policies and guidelines.
  • Meet housekeeping and hygiene standards individually and as part of a team.
  • Comply with food safety and HSE guidelines.
  • Support Cratewash duties and site improvements.
  • Complete all relevant paperwork to ensure traceability in the event of a process problem or issue.
  • Ensure stock is correctly rotated.
  • Complete schedule to supply crates and pallets.
  • Co‑operate in the continuous improvement of quality, safety and productivity standards.
  • Handle and lift crates averaging 18kg.
Qualifications
  • Communication and teamwork (essential).
  • NVQ Level 2 in Food Manufacturing (desirable).
  • Basic Food Hygiene certificate (desirable).
  • Manual Handling training (desirable).
  • Pallet Truck Licence (desirable).
  • Fork Lift Truck Licence (desirable).
Professional Competencies
  • Good level of numeracy and communication.
  • Effective organization and time management.
  • Basic Manual Handling and Food Hygiene training.
  • Forklift licence.
