Maintenance Engineer

When equipment stops, you're the person people want on shift. If you're the kind of engineer who can walk into a breakdown, get to the root cause quickly, and keep production moving, this role will feel right at home.

You will be supporting planned maintenance, breakdown response, and overall equipment reliability in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment where no two days are ever quite the same.

This is a well‑established, large‑scale manufacturing operation with a strong focus on reliability, safety, and continuous improvement. The site operates high‑volume production processes where engineering performance is critical to overall output. You'll be joining a stable, skilled maintenance team with a strong emphasis on teamwork, problem‑solving, and keeping production running efficiently.

3‑shift rotating system: 6:00 am – 2:00 pm, 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm, 10:00 pm – 6:00 am.

• Fault diagnosis on mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems, responding quickly to breakdowns
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to schedule
• Completing engineering maintenance tasks within assigned areas
• Updating CMMS records for breakdowns, downtime and maintenance history
• Ensuring effective shift handovers where applicable
• Maintaining safe working practices in line with 6S and risk assessments
• Supporting continuous improvement to reduce downtime and improve efficiency
• Supporting and developing apprentices within the team
• Ensuring plant and equipment is correctly serviced, maintained and calibrated
• Providing flexible support across departments when required

• Time‑served apprenticeship in engineering or HNC (or equivalent) in maintenance/manufacturing engineering
• Strong fault‑finding skills across mechanical and electrical systems
• Good communication skills at all levels
• Self‑motivated, disciplined, and proactive approach
• Team‑focused with a continuous improvement mindset
