Despatch Operative Nights

About the Role

We’re looking for Despatch Operatives to join our Despatch team based at our site in Hereford.

As a member of the Despatch Nights team, you’ll help to ensure our products reach the correct customer and continue the high quality expected of Avara Foods.

• £13.15 per hour plus additional £1.65 shift allowance per hour
• Paid Weekly

36.66 hours per week

Monday to Friday

• Operate pedestrian pallet trucks, scanning product to ensure it is sent to the correct customer and loading delivery lorries with the correct product.
• Manual handling which may include lifting equipment and products up to 20kg.
• Loading and unloading vehicles using manual handling equipment.
• Be fully aware of all the required safety equipment needed to perform his/her tasks and how equipment should be used.
• Carrying out all duties in line with training, food safety and health and safety guidance.

• Good level of communication and numeracy – essential.
• NVQ Level 2 in Food Manufacturing would be desirable.
• Previous experience in a similar role or working in the food manufacturing industry would be desirable.
• A basic food hygiene certificate, a battery operated truck license or manual handling training would be desirable.
• Effective organisation & time management.

Full training will be provided.
