Healthcare Assistant Hereford Hospital | Nursing | Permanent | Full Time | Includes Weekend Working | Up to £25,800 per annum depending on experience 37.5 hours per week

Our Ward team cares for patients undergoing a wide range of elective surgical procedures across specialties including Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Gynaecology, Urology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Endoscopy, Plastics and Vascular Surgery. We are looking for a compassionate, motivated and enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant to join our friendly and supportive Ward team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within our 20-bed inpatient ward, Day Surgery Unit and Admissions & Clinical Unit, supporting patients throughout their surgical journey.

• Assist colleagues in Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Neurosurgery, Plastics Surgery, ENT, Cardiology and Physiotherapy.
• Enjoy more time to care for patients as individuals
• Manage a wide range of activities and changing priorities
• Make sure the day-to-day operations of our various clinics run smoothly
• Assist consultants and nurses with procedures, such as dressings and wound care
• Carry out pre-assessment, both face-to-face and over the phone

Our 20-bed inpatient ward cares predominantly for patients undergoing elective surgical procedures and supports both day-case and inpatient pathways. We provide care across a broad range of specialties including Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Endoscopy, Gynaecology, Urology, Ophthalmology, ENT, Vascular Surgery and Plastics.

As a Healthcare Assistant within our Ward team, you will work alongside experienced nurses, consultants and allied healthcare professionals, supporting patients throughout their surgical journey from admission through to discharge. This varied role offers exposure to a diverse case mix and the opportunity to develop your clinical skills within a supportive and professional environment.
