Better places, thriving communities. Are you interested in working within the criminal justice system? In a core role supporting the police? Do you have the empathy to work with vulnerable people? We are looking for people who want to make a difference working alongside the Police in custody suites, caring for detainees – from supporting them during their time in custody, completing forensic samples, and working with other agencies to support detainee rehabilitation.

  • Collaborate with other agencies to support and facilitate detainee rehabilitation.
  • Escort detainees and record observations as per individual plans.
  • Work with police to address risks of self‑harm.

  • Reasonable level of spoken and written English and basic numeracy.
  • Competent at using computer and IT programs.
  • Full valid driving licence.
  • Right to work in the UK (British passport or ILR for ≥3 years with no gaps out of country >3 months).
  • Clean driving and criminal record – subject to police vetting.

After selection and vetting, you will complete a 3‑week initial training course (ITC) Monday to Friday, 8 am–5 pm on full pay.
