About The Role
Family Support Worker (Family Help)
Salary: HC07 £ 32,061 - £36,363 per annum (£19,497 to £22,122 per annum pro rata)

Responsibilities- Work directly with vulnerable children, young people and families across a range of settings, including homes, schools, colleges and community environments.
- Deliver evidence‑based therapeutic interventions that support positive outcomes and, where required, lead Family Help review meetings.
- Write and complete Family Help Assessments (including Section 17), develop SMART plans and deliver parenting programmes.
- Coordinate multi‑agency support, make referrals in line with local thresholds, and advocate for children and families.
- Manage a complex caseload, ensuring safeguarding responsibilities, specialist assessments (e.g. Young Carers) and effective court processes are handled.
- Provide written and verbal reports, maintain accurate records and contribute to multi‑agency meetings.
- Participate in supervision, training and professional development opportunities.
- Hold a Level 4 qualification (or above) in a relevant field such as health, education, child development, youth work or social care.
- Have experience working with children, young people and families, including lone working, and a sound understanding of early help frameworks.
- Proven experience managing complex caseloads, acting as a lead worker and coordinating multi‑agency support.
- Confident in using evidence‑based therapeutic approaches such as motivational interviewing and solution‑focused practice, and ideally have experience delivering parenting programmes such as Triple P or Solihull.
- Strong relationship‑building skills, able to ensure the child’s voice is heard and advocate effectively on behalf of families.
- Ability to complete high‑quality assessments, reports and plans, and chair multi‑agency meetings.
- Excellent communication, organisational and IT skills with the ability to prioritise workloads independently or collaboratively.
- Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and able to identify, assess and respond to risk, including exploitation and complex needs.
- Confidence to challenge partners and providers constructively to maintain high support standards.
- Highly motivated, adaptable, resilient, flexible approach to working hours and environments, including travel across the county, family homes and access to own transport.
