This unique role supports families to take ownership of decision‑making while ensuring the voice of the child remains at the heart of everything you do.
Responsibilities- Build positive and trusting relationships with children, young people and families.
- Coordinate and facilitate Family Group Conferences and other family‑led decision‑making meetings.
- Support children and young people to participate in ways that reflect their wishes, feelings and understanding.
- Identify and engage wider family and community networks.
- Help families develop safe, realistic and sustainable plans.
- Facilitate review meetings and support families to reflect on progress and changes needed to move forward.
- Work alongside social workers and partner agencies to embed Family‑Led Decision‑Making across Herefordshire’s Families First journey.
- Maintain high‑quality records and contribute to service learning and quality assurance.
- Experience working with children, young people and families.
- Skilled in facilitating meetings and managing challenging conversations.
- Ability to work confidently with complex family dynamics while remaining calm, balanced and solution‑focused.
- Understanding of safeguarding, child development and the needs of vulnerable children.
- Experience of multi‑agency working.
- Belief in strengths‑based, restorative and relational approaches.
- Excellent communication skills, with warmth, empathy and professionalism.
- Holding cases.
- Completing statutory assessments.
- Delivering therapeutic intervention.
- Making decisions on behalf of families.
- Salary range £32,061 - £36,363 per annum.
- Annual leave: 31 days pro‑rata plus bank holidays (with option to purchase an additional 10 days).
