Unit Accountant
Hermanus, WC

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Unit Accountant to join a prestigious hotel in Hermanus. This is a full-time, on-site position suited to a highly organised, detail-driven finance professional with strong accounting knowledge, sound ethics and the ability to manage a busy financial function.
Requirements- Accounting qualification preferred
- Minimum 2 years’ General Ledger and high-volume accounting experience
- Hotel or hospitality experience advantageous
- Strong financial and analytical skills
- Intermediate to advanced Excel
- Experience with Xero and Opera
- MyMicros, Symphony or My Inventory advantageous
- Strong understanding of financial controls
- High level of confidentiality and attention to detail
- Excellent organisation and deadline management
- Manage the hotel’s day-to-day accounting function
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Bank, petty cash and credit card reconciliations
- Manage debtors, creditors and payment processes
- Monitor revenue, night audit and daily financial controls
- Oversee stock, inventory and operational equipment controls
- Prepare gross profit and trading reports
- Assist with annual budgets and business planning
- Ensure VAT, PAYE and financial compliance requirements are maintained
- Work closely with the Hotel General Manager, CEO and finance team
