Good Shepherd Healthcare System (GSHCS) is looking for a Physician Associate to join our Surgical Services team.
Compensation range: $180,000 - $210,000
Schedule:
Fulltime - 4 10-hour shifts with call rotation.

Physician Associate - Surgery Responsibilities & Duties- Assist surgeons during surgical procedures by providing necessary instruments and supplies.
- Conduct preoperative patient assessments to ensure readiness for surgery.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and condition during surgery.
- Perform wound closures, including suturing and applying dressings.
- Provide postoperative care, including monitoring for complications and changing dressings.
- Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures, risks, and postoperative care.
- Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Participate in clinical rounds and patient consultations.
- Document patient interactions and clinical procedures accurately in medical records.
- Assist in the development and implementation of patient care plans.
- Previous experience as a surgical Physician Associate.
- Master's degree in Physician Associate Studies or relevant field.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and operating room protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- National Certification.
- Active ACLS and BLS certifications.
- Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Current and unrestricted state licensure as a Physician Associate.
- Graduate from an accredited Physician Associate program.
- Strong clinical and technical skills relevant to surgical procedures.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and patient education.
