OverviewJoin our team as a Per Diem Pharmacist at the Mirasol Family Health Center and be part of a healthcare organization that believes in making a difference beyond medical care! At Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic, pharmacists are integrated into a team-based organization, working to the top of your licensure. Pharmacists are involved in all aspects of patient care and have access to patient charts, labs, medications, and diagnoses.
With the ability to prescribe or modify care plans via collaborative agreements, our goal is to ensure patients receive the best and most cost‑effective medications and care possible. Traditional outpatient dispensing, chronic refill authorization, therapeutic interchanges, prior authorizations, clinical visits for diabetes, hypertension, anticoagulants, and asthma, and directly face‑to‑face or telehealth patient care are part of your role. We serve an underserved community with 40+ clinics using a holistic model that includes medical, dental, pharmacy, orthodontia, nutrition, behavioral health, shelter, energy, HIV and AIDS counseling, home visits, and mobile clinics.
we are looking for:
- A pharmacist passionate about serving underserved communities
- A pharmacist with experience in community or ambulatory pharmacy practice
- PGY‑1 & PGY‑2 residencies are equivalent to work experience
- Compensation: $79.43/hour
- Shifts may vary between Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 7:00 pm
- Provide patient care services as assigned, including but not limited to Drug Utilization Review, Patient Counseling, Medication Therapy Management
- Perform Collaborative Drug Therapy Management or other post-diagnostic disease state management pursuant to a valid agreement
- Prescribe drug or device as authorized by statute according to Drug Therapy Management Protocols
- Order, interpret, and monitor laboratory tests
- Receive or transfer of a prescription
- Provide direct oversight of pharmacy personnel, ensuring work is within the scope of practice and duties of their licensure
- Ensure the security of the pharmacy area, including adequate safeguards against theft or diversion of prescription drugs
- Maintain records and inventories in accordance with state and federal laws
- Ensure new prescriptions, refills, and drug orders are correctly dispensed according to provider authorization and YVFWC policies and procedures
- Maintain active licensure and pharmacological knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing professional networks, and participating in professional societies
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy and current Washington State Pharmacist License required
- Pharm D Degree and bilingual (English/Spanish) speaking skills preferred
- Drug testing required: testing for controlled substances before employment and ongoing testing throughout employment
