Base pay range: $20.83/hr – $33.30/hr

Safely transport patients to/from GSHCS and affiliated appointments, deliver medications, maintain accurate records, assist with vehicle maintenance and scheduling, and represent GSHCS professionally.
Responsibilities- Safely transport patients
- Transport individuals in wheelchairs
- Maintain accurate records
- Assist with vehicle maintenance
- Assist in scheduling appointments, as needed
- Represent GSHCS in a professional manner while performing job duties with patients, volunteers, and/or other staff members
- Collaborate with Care Van Coordinator, other drivers, and supervisors
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of safety policies, transportation and motor vehicle laws, fire and disaster plans
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information
- Maintain cooperative relations with GSHCS departments, clinics, and co‑workers
- Support the hospital mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures
- Participate in required education for DNV programs as applicable
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required:
High School graduate or equivalent. Preferred:
None.
Required:
Valid Oregon Driver's license with an acceptable driving record (no infractions in last five years). Preferred:
None.
Preferred: 1–5 years of driving experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
Other- Strong desire to provide excellent customer service
- Positive interpersonal and verbal skills; ability to relate positively to various publics
- Familiarity with health care issues
- Bilingual preferred but not required
Requires sufficient auditory and visual ability, motor coordination, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently, move objects up to 25 pounds, stoop, kneel, crouch, walk, stand, and sit for extended periods.
Working ConditionsPrimarily outdoors while driving a vehicle with occasional indoor duties at hospitals or clinics. Exposure to infectious and contagious diseases, hazardous materials, and medical equipment. Variable indoor temperatures. Fast-paced environment requiring quick response to changing circumstances and multitasking under varying noise levels.
