American Traveler is hiring an Echo Technologist/Cardiac Sonographer with 2+ years of experience and RDCS certification to perform diagnostic echo cardiographic procedures in a hospital setting.
Requirements- RDCS (ARDMS) or RCS (CCI) certification required
- BLS certification required
- Graduate of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program with a focus in Cardiac Sonography
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an Echo Tech required; 3+ years preferred
- Experience with Stress and TEE echo cardiographic techniques preferred
- May start and manage IV lines for contrast echocardiography when credentialed and trained
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently and assist with patient transfers over 100 lbs using proper techniques or mechanical aids
- Continuous walking and standing throughout shift with occasional stooping, kneeling, or crouching
- License required if applicable
- Medical Unit setting performing diagnostic echo cardiographic procedures under physician direction
- Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 5 shifts per week at 8 hours per shift
- Perform transthoracic (TTE), transesophageal (TEE), and stress echocardiograms per ASE guidelines and physician orders
- Utilize ultrasound and diagnostic imaging equipment, including contrast agents such as Definity and agitated bubble techniques
- Documentation maintained in PACS or EMR system
- Analyze echo cardiographic data and prepare preliminary findings for the interpreting cardiologist
- Collaborate with cardiologists and healthcare team to ensure quality patient care
- Explain procedures to patients to ensure comfort and safety
- Review images for clarity, completeness, and diagnostic value
- Perform equipment maintenance and quality control checks, reporting malfunctions promptly
- Comply with infection control, HIPAA, and patient safety standards
- Participate in continuous quality improvement and IAC Echocardiography accreditation processes
- CRASE training required if assignment extends beyond 6 months
