Overview
AWS is a fast‑paced technology company and leader in data centers. The Data Center Operations Manager role ensures overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels. The position expands our infrastructure management team and requires technology managers with experience in people management, strong technical understanding, and the vision to take AWS Data Center Operations to the next level.
Responsibilities- Prioritize and assign trouble tickets to data center technicians and operators
- Routinely review ticket queue for large events and address accordingly
- Coordinate change management resources
- Guide, train and educate data staff on best practices related to all service owner issues
- Manage and deliver mid‑size projects
- Recommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and required SLAs
- Manage a diverse team of data technicians with varying skills
- Provide weekly report to the data center manager
- Maintain the on‑call schedule coordinating absences and vacations
- Recruit and train data technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels
- Host weekly staff meetings
- Write and deliver performance reviews for staff

BasicQualifications
- High school or equivalent diploma
- A+ or CND (Certified Network Defender) or Network+ or Security+

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $70,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $158,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
