Jack In The Box - Assistant Restaurant Manager
Position Summary Responsible for managing restaurant operations, in conjunction with or in the absence of the Restaurant Manager. Uses discretion in daily management decisions with accountability for ensuring effective execution of the Service Profit Chain (SPC), and Brand Promise. Primary responsibilities are to provide excellent internal service, external service, and building restaurant sales and profit while ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Key Duties / Responsibilities
- Internal Service: Recruit, select, train, develop, and evaluate restaurant employees; monitor staffing levels; ensure training systems are implemented; identify and develop internal candidates; maintain a friendly, fun, clean, and safe environment; treat employees with care and respect; motivate and inspire high performance; adhere to company procedures; recognize and reward employees appropriately; use JIB systems, processes, and tools; comply with state and federal labor laws.
- External Service: Manage daily activities for guest excellence; train employees and hold the team accountable for consistent guest service and food quality; monitor adherence to JIB systems, procedures, and food safety; review practices and modify to improve guest experience; maintain guest interaction and respond to concerns promptly; sustain brand image with consistent food quality, service, and cleanliness; serve as a role model for guest service.
- Higher Profits: Partner with Restaurant Manager to analyze operational and financial performance using management information tools; identify trends and consult on action plans; use data to analyze results; develop and execute plans to increase sales and profitability through the Service Profit Chain; consider cost/benefit impacts and protect brand; monitor costs, budget, and goals.

Qualifications
EducationHigh School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
ExperienceInternal Promote:
Minimum 1+ year as a Shift Leader or 1 year as an Assistant Manager in a customer service environment; must be 100% certified in all workstations.
External Recruit:
Minimum 3 years as an Assistant Manager with some P&L responsibility.
Must be at least 18 years old; complete Assistant Manager training;
Serv Safe certified; basic math skills; excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; self‑starter; knowledge of PCs; valid driver’s license and insurance; ability to drive a vehicle for deposits and travel.
Stand and walk 85–95% of shift; lift 10–65 lbs; move throughout the restaurant; operate equipment and a vehicle; use a keyboard.
