Job SummaryProvides administrative support to the loan officer, processing applications, preparing loan documents and general ledger tickets, and assisting with loan closings. Also prepares credit memos and supports the loan officer with past dues and exceptions.
Responsibilities- Prepare and customize various documents/forms/letters associated with loans (turndown letters, financial statements, release letters and liens on loans, amendments on real estate loans, transfer of title forms, Letters of Credit, etc.), ensuring policy and compliance requirements are met.
- Evaluate and proof all setup sheets for accuracy prior to submission to Loan Processing.
- Schedule customer appointments and conduct loan closings; prepare loan disbursement checks.
- Provide excellent customer service, answer inquiries, greet customers, and notarize documents.
- Answer incoming phone calls to the department as needed.
- Provide walk‑in loan customers with appropriate applications.
- Review applications for completeness and accuracy.
- Pull credit reports on all applications and renewals.
- Create and balance all loan tickets from the setup sheet data.
- Proofread new/renewed loan documentation and perform file maintenance.
- Review loan exception reports and loan‑to‑value reports; provide documentation to clear exceptions and correspond with customers.
- Assist with past‑due and maturing loan lists; send letters and prepare renewal documents.
- Order appraisals, title work, etc., to complete loan documentation.
- Coordinate with title companies and the mortgage operations division to schedule closings.
- Prepare loan advances on draw loans and follow up on past‑due loans if required.
- Participate in team efforts to cross‑sell other bank services and products.
- Maintain cooperation and rapport with all officers and employees.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- High school education or equivalent.
- Minimum of three years of experience in banking or lending.
- Must have or receive NMLS clearance.
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledgeable about different loan types and documents, including commercial and agricultural loans.
- Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines and work independently.
- Great attention to detail, recall ability, and strong organizational skills.
- Strong customer relations skills and effective communication.
- Ability to anticipate problems and use sound judgment and resourcefulness to resolve issues.
- Proficiency with MS Office and strong computer skills.
