SUMMARYAccurately identifies, verifies, records and receives inbound shipments and ensures product and packaging quality. Receivers work with and instruct other individuals in ensuring proper sorting, segregating, staging and flowing of inbound products.
JOB DESCRIPTION ReceiverESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collect pallet labels from the receiving office for the loads that are in the assigned doors.
- Verify the correct product was shipped, making sure the description, pack size, and UPC code on the case matches the pallet label.
- Verify the product is properly stacked according to the ti/hi that is notated on the pallet label and the breakdown sheet.
- Apply the pallet label on the top layer on the right side of the pallet and scan the pallet label.
- Scan pallet labels and enter in the expiration date.
- Notate any damage, overages or shortages on the loads on the summary labels.
- Make sure the lumpers or drivers keep the dock clean and make sure the product is being staged in the proper lanes.
- Make sure the lift drivers are clearing out the doors that need room to finish.
- Perform other duties as requested by the Warehouse Manager.

Education and/or
Experience:
Degree or equivalent; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language
Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical
Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Physical Needs: The employee is regularly required stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
