Accounting Manager – GL

Two Six Technologies is seeking an experienced GL Accounting Manager to oversee core accounting operations within a government contracting environment. The role is hybrid and works from our Herndon, VA office two days per week.

• Lead the team in the monthly close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare and review bank reconciliations, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Record and apply customer payments.
• Perform credit card reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Oversee vendor setup and ensure compliance with internal controls and required documentation.
• Record and apply vendor payments.
• Handle inventory accounting functions.
• Maintain adherence to DCAA standards, internal policies, and other regulatory requirements.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve internal controls.
• Mentor and guide accounting staff, reviewing work for accuracy and compliance.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in a government contract accounting environment with strong emphasis on General Ledger accounting.
• 2+ years of experience in a public accounting environment with strong emphasis on manufacturing.
• 2+ years of experience in a lead role, with demonstrated ability to supervise and develop staff.
• Solid understanding of accrual accounting, reconciliations, and month-end processes.
• Experience with AIM or a comparable Inventory Management System.
• Knowledge of SOX and DCAA compliance.
• Solid skills with Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Must be able to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience with Unanet accounting/ERP system.
• Experience with One Stream for account reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Experience improving or automating accounting processes.

Eligibility to and willingness to obtain a government clearance.

Salary Range: $116,300 - $145,385 USD per year.
