Lead Project Control Analyst
Huna Tek is seeking an experienced project control analyst to lead the project control function in a complex business environment that includes multiple operating companies and joint ventures.
Essential Job Functions- Team Leadership: Refine policies and processes in consultation with senior accounting staff, manage and mentor a small team of project control analysts, and perform analyst duties on a set of projects.
- Project Control Responsibilities (examples):
- Budgeting and financial analysis:
Develop and maintain project plans and budgets; monitor costs versus plans and budgets, forecast EACs, and conduct variance analysis. - Ensure accuracy of project‑related timesheets and expense reports.
- Monitor projects’ burn rate and commitments against funding.
- Vendor and customer invoicing: review subcontractor and vendor invoices for accuracy and compliance; review customer invoices and monitor billing/payment status; provide invoice backup.
- Unbilled analysis and monthly accrual calculations.
- Support to project/program managers: develop data and reports, project financial reports; maintain personnel assignments in Unanet; initiate and review purchase orders; communicate timekeeping and expense practices.
- Analyze, identify, and monitor risks related to subcontracting limitations.
- Budgeting and financial analysis:
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting complex data to stakeholders.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a project control analyst for federal contracts.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a team lead or management role.
- Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and other data functions.
- Experience using Unanet Gov Con software (strongly preferred) or similar project‑based accounting system.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, math, or business‑related field (preferred but not required).
