The Dominion Energy Military Fellowship Program is a corporate internship which aligns with the Department of Defense Skill Bridge program. Skill Bridge authorization allows eligible service members with command approval to participate in corporate internships as their place of duty up to 180 days prior to separation. Dominion Energy Military Fellowship positions align with the company’s workforce needs and Military Fellows may be considered for full-time opportunities upon successful completion of their fellowship.
Service member Requirements
To enroll in a corporate internship while still on active duty, the service member must be able to meet eligibility compliance and receive command approval. Once an internship offer has been extended, the service member may proceed in routing a completed program application for command awareness and approval. The internship cannot commence until you are 180 days or less from your separation date (i.e., EAOS, EAS).
- Have met all instructional criteria outlined in DODI 1322.29, and relevant Service instructions
- Obtain command approval to participate (i.e., signature required on Intern Application)
- Provide final notification of command approval to the Employer
At this time, Dominion Energy cannot transfer nor sponsor a work visa for this position.
This position does not offer relocation assistance.
Dominion Energy’s Herndon, Virgnia office has Military Fellowship positions available which align to our System Protection Technicians. The Military Fellowship program is intended to support our long-term staffing needs by providing participants a valuable experience that can lead to fulltime employment upon separation from the military. This work experience may be up to 180 days, as agreed upon by the selected service member and approved by their military command.
This is a non-union job which is to be based at our Lincoln Park office in Herndon, VA.
In this role within our System Protection Development Program, you’ll participate in the installation, maintenance, and corrective actions associated with protective relaying schemes, communication systems, SCADA components, and other Operational Technology (OT) systems used in Dominion Energy’s field facilities. This role is designed to build your foundational knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for performing System Protection tasks.
As you progress, you’ll expand upon these skills by taking on more complex responsibilities, allowing you to perform tasks with greater independence and proficiency. You’ll work alongside senior team members to gain hands-on experience during construction projects and maintenance activities, and you’ll be expected to interpret engineering design packages and execute tasks effectively.
