Industrial Assembly Engineer – Airbus Kinston Affiliate

The Industrial Assembly Engineer will manage drilling, fastening, jigs & tools and measurement activities to secure the industrialization of technologies and the implementation of robust processes.

• Define and prepare specifications for jigs & tooling related to the assembly of parts and components.
• Prepare technical documentation for calls for tender and support the down‑selection of the supplier.
• Analyze the technical capability of suppliers and Airbus standards to provide best‑in‑class solutions for local purpose.
• Provide technical guidance and problem solving on specific technical issues related to assembly technologies and processes.
• Run PPS (Practical Problem Solving) on specific shop floor issues according to Airbus standards.
• Create local technology strategy in line with global technology standards for drilling, fastening, jigs & tools for assembly and measurement.
• Develop local solutions based on customer needs and Airbus standards.
• Implement new assembly processes and technologies on the shop floor.
• Participate in weekly team meetings with the transnational Assembly Technology Team.
• Be an active part of a transnational team participating in regular team meetings and SQCDP meetings.

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or similar.
• 8 years of experience in a related role, with 10% domestic and international exposure.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
• Knowledge in specifying tools & machinery and defining a technical specification.
• Experience in manufacturing or assembly of technical parts and generic assembly processes.
• Experience in machine or jigs & tools qualification and knowledge of relevant rules and regulations.
• Preferred experience in tolerancing, designing technical products, and quality processes such as PPS.
