Overview
AMT is growing and is seeking a highly motivated Project Manager / Senior Water Resources Engineer with 7+ years of relevant experience, to join our team of design professionals in our Herndon, VA office. The candidate will lead water resources engineering tasks for transportation-related projects for Virginia and Maryland DOT and municipalities. This is an opportunity to lead, manage and deliver challenging projects in the Virginia and Maryland markets and grow into a management position.
The role offers a hybrid schedule (combination of office and remote) and competitive compensation & benefits, with relocation allowance for the right candidate. The candidate may work on projects in the Herndon, VA office as well as other AMT offices.
- Completion of calculations, reports and plans in support of transportation projects including stormwater management, storm drainage systems, culverts, open channels, bridge hydraulics and erosion and sediment control
- Perform Hydrologic and Hydraulic analysis and reporting
- Obtain permit approvals from state and local agencies
- Assist in the preparation of engineering documents (plans, reports, cost estimates and specifications) for Advertisement and Construction
- Meet and work directly with clients and public agency officials
- Work in collaboration with a Transportation design team comprised of other disciplines and support staff on multi-disciplinary projects
- Provide QA/QC review following AMT and client-based procedures
- BS in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Water Resources
- Minimum of 7 years of water resources related experience including plan and report production
- Hydrology and hydraulic modeling experience (storm drainage, SWM, floodplain, bridge) with commonly used software
- Virginia Licensed Professional Engineer required, Maryland preferred
- VDOT experience highly preferred
- CADD experience with Micro Station / Open Roads required
- Excellent organizational, coordination and communication skills, both written and verbal
